For people who have small apartments or have small businesses without warehouses to store their hundreds or thousands of product, how do they deal with manufacturing? Similarly, if a business owned by 1 or 2 people, who ships the products if they do not have enough time to ship thousands of orders from their homes?
In manufacturing, is it rare for a manufacturer to receive an order forum and ONLY produce the orders listed there as well as package and deliver the orders directly to the customers? I constantly hear manufacturing seeking over 250 orders at a time of product and I'm wondering how small or online businesses deal with it. What happens if one simply cannot fit all these orders in their small living or working place?
With shipping, let's say business improves drastically and the owner/owners are receiving a thousand orders a week. Surely they cannot package and ship all this themselves, can they? If the manufacturer only sends the product to the business, who does the business direct to package and ship?
I'm having a prototype built and looking for a manufacturer, so I'm overwhelmed as to how all this is dealt with. Are there manufacturers in China with no minimum order demand who store, package, and ship the product directly to the customers for business owners with no space and no time of their own?
A Bonus Question: How can one be sure their intellectual property is protected if they want to save money and produce in China? Are patent laws still very lenient there? What is stopping them from selling the product directly from their warehouse?
