So I just got off the phone with a investment "specialist" from a brokerage firm. Since I have a part time job and receive matching 401K contributions, I wanted to evaluate my options.
I was connected with a rep, and after telling them my young age (19) they explained to me the benefits of "Saving" and "the power of compound interest". She then told me how a customer of hers had over $1 Million dollars in stock and 401K account by the time he retired! Wow! A million dollars at 65! Pure slowlane garbage.
It did not stop from there. She then stated that if I properly diversify my investments safely, I can retire by 2060 and have a good nest egg. Not to mention, the mutual fund averages 6 percent a year! Let's rely on the markets and a steady job for 50 years!
This experience made me laugh because it correlates directly with MJ's idea of the slowlane. Definitely gave me more motivation to build my Fastlane biz.
PS: I took my money out of that fund and put it into an aggressive stock plan.:coolgleamA:
