With all the many affiliate programs out there on the 'net, I began to daydream about the possibility of both selling a product, and slipping a few links into it for related products that are not my own.
What I found when I did a search on the forums was... Nothing. Maybe I wasn't using the right terms, or maybe this topic hasn't come up. When I searched google, I found an article that boils down to "Don't use more than one link every four or five pages" and a posting on the warrior forums that says to do it, since your ebook is going to be swiped and shared by any free sharing database out there.
Between the two of them I've been convinced that it's a good idea, and picked up a tip from a poster that goes by the screen name of R Hagel to redirect your links through your own domain first.
Since I haven't done this before (I haven't made any ebooks, but that is a possibility in the future.) I was wondering if there was anything wrong with this strategy.
Let's assume the following: The book can stand on it's own and isn't designed to just upsell.
Any affiliate products are relevant (or at least seem like it).
