OK I am seeking advice from all. There are many things I have learned over the last year or so. One of the most important pieces of advice I have learned is to fulfill a need. You might be good at something but if there is no need then it is pointless. You might as well make it hobby. Solving a need is extremely important.

The other is more subjective and intuitive. I have learned to take everything in life and look at it differently. Open your mind up and see opportunities in EVERYTHING no matter how grim things may appear. There is always an opportunity.

Now with that said, I see an opportunity but can't seem to fulfill the need part. I have an old friend of mine who is very successful at his business and is about 95% wholesale and then he has a retail store. But he makes good money selling products all over the world to other businesses for their retail store. He told me if I could develop or manufacture a product he would put it in his catalog and start taking orders on it.

It's an awesome opportunity but I can't come to terms with a product I can develop. In a way I feel like I am putting the cart before the horse. Usually you come up with the right product and then find ways to promote it and sell it. Right now I have a means of selling and promoting it but no product. I see the opportunity and it is awesome. I want to execute it. There is much money to be made.

The key is he only sells Maine made products. So I have to remain in the confines of those terms. His business is all things manufactured in the state and he prides his business on that.

Anyone think this is a bad way to go into business? Or is this an opportunity that just needs more polishing up and executing?

Would love to get some advice on this.

Thanks :tiphat:
