This was my big "AHA!" from Gary Vaynerchuk's book, "Crush It!"-- Gary makes the point that social media devices are like staplers-- people use them to get a job done. If someone invents a newer/better stapler, people will migrate to it.
Same thing w/social network technology: We should not be focusing on Facebook, or Twitter, or whatever else-- we should be looking at how people use it, and where they're headed.
