A quick intro on myself: 24 years old, but been raised around manufacturing/importing all my life, thanks to my dad. To make a long story short, last year I decided to open my own company with a different customer base and different product lines but to incorporate branding (something he never did) and give it mass appeal.
After making many connections and advances, I have been approached with the opportunity to run my product in QVC for their Q4 season, in pretty prime air-time. My product is not new, not patented, or anything but the model is pretty unique and has mass appeal, with a GREAT pricepoint.
Here's the catch, QVC works off a consignment model. They want their requested inventory in their warehouse, and will pay 60 days after airtime. Obviously funding is a hurdle, as I would be ordering this on a demand basis and don't currently stock it right now. If they don't sell, I'll have to stock the inventory in hopes it can sell (which it probably will eventually but with a slow turnover).
Does anyone have any experience with selling on QVC? Selling rate? Branding/exposure advantages?
I need to make my decision asap, so I can order the inventory and have it to them on time. Thanks!
