radio advertising

Recently I have heard many internet marketers using radio advertising to drive their email list growth. The scenario is; radio ad(rush limbaugh, howard stern, etc) > drives to squeeze page email opt in > successive emails > sale. I can tell you then one that hooked me in did a phenomenal job of creating interest and sales opportunities. I wasn't completely impressed with the quality of the materials, but thats always an issue with rushed info products.

The one I heard on Rush was the typical "Mysterious secret to get Women". It had to have worked insanely well, the ad popped above the other advertisers, I am male of course. I am wondering how many thousands of email he garnered for that one campaign. I have not heard him again, and it may have been only one day of radio ads only on Rush. Probably spent $10-$20K? Not sure..

Has anyone tried this, radio advertising, to generate leads or site traffic for an online business? And did it work for you? How much did it cost? Would you do it again?
