Okay, so I owe a LOT of credit to this site for helping me to change the way I look at LIVING my life and expanding my reality. The fact is, though, that I am still in the early stages of fastlane-ism, and sometimes get confused as to the most appropriate action to take to accelerate our PLAN for escaping the race. I sometimes find myself wondering if my "gut feelings" are accredited to the new or old way of thinking. Am I making this decision to feel safe and secure, or am I doing it to move forward toward the ultimate goal of total freedom?

The latest point of conflict on this topic is my JOB. Lately, I have been seriously contemplating moving to other companies for another JOB. Obviously, that in itself is slow thinking...I've learned that much. :smx4:

(enter confusion) My current position allows some down-time, during which I work on the PLAN project.
A new, higher-paying JOB could provide less down-time (it most likely would), but more money.

It's difficult for me to see an absolute advantage to one option or the other. This is where I am thus far:

Keep current JOB:
- Have more free time for working on PLAN for now
- Get less and less free time as responsibilities increase
- Pay is acceptable at best (per industry standards)
- JOB itself is blah (perhaps more motivation to pursue plan)
Take new JOB:
- Have less time for plan during the day
- Higher pay
- More challenging to my brain
- More exciting duties

The bottom line is, I can't decide if I am thinking the higher paying and more interesting JOB is appealing due to the standard "grass is greener" process, or if it would really help things along $-wise for the PLAN.

This is one of the most awkward mental transitions I have made...trying to change years of 'lessons' taught by parents and other adults to follow the slow path. There are times when I KNOW that an idea or path is slowlane but with others, I find myself stuck in a gray area when trying to decide.

Either way, I am set on working the plan at home and reaching the goal. I guess I want the higher pay to help accelerate the plan, but I don't want to be more mentally drained at the end of each day.

So I am asking, WWFD (What would fastlaners do)? or, How would you approach this mental block differently than I have?

Thanks in advance,

John
