Hello everyone, I am an architect, and I want to start my Fastlane. I came up with an idea, but I am currently a bit confused, causing me to doubt whether this idea is a fast lane and whether it is worth pursuing.
My idea is to create a training course for the registered architect exam, helping the architectural designers acquire Registered Architect qualifications.
I use the CENTS principle to judge this idea.
Control: My income will not depend on a specific client or supplier, so it is controllable.
Entry: There is a certain threshold to enter this market, simply put, it requires higher design capabilities and better teaching abilities, but there is no absolute technological barrier. The current market situation is: not every designer can engage in this business, but there are nearly 20 companies among existing competitors.
Need: Once architectural designers become Registered Architects, they can get better job treatment, so this need is a real need.
Time: Earning income by selling courses should comply with the Time principle.
Scale: There are currently about 500,000 architectural designers in the market, and only 30,000 Registered Architects. Considering that some people are not interested in the Registered Architects, there is probably a total market volume of 400,000 people. Even if I expand my business, I can clearly foresee this ceiling. So I am not sure if this complies with the Scale principle.
In summary, the problem I am facing now is that the total volume of this market is relatively small, and there are more competitors, and the market price has become relatively low, about 300 dollar for one student. So, I want to hear the advice of you.
