Hi guys,
New here, reading this book has been great. It made me open my eyes to many things and many things that are wrong with my current business. It is also making me rethink the business I am in completely. I am currently a young Realtor. I have sold some homes but it has been a real grind. Some deals I have worked on and dedicated many months to have fallen apart. That time I will never get back in my life and it was all for nothing. The most valuable thing is time. It doesn't feel like I am building a business. Sometimes I feel that I am spinning my wheels for a commission check.
I have begun to realize how little control a REALTOR® actually has. As a business person, I am more focused than ever and this last transaction made me realize that being a mere participant in my business is NOT enough security for me.
Think about what I am saying… no matter how great of a REALTOR® you may be, you only have so much control (yourself). You cannot control your clients, the other agents, or the banks. In this last transaction I was only one of about a dozen people involved.
To me this seems like a bad business model and this book has really opened my eyes to this. And now I am starting to wonder if I should throw in the towel and work on building a business in a better industry. Any thoughts or feedback would be great.
