Remote Work - Morally Wrong??

Came across this article in favor of remote work and thought the forum would find it interesting.

I'm very skeptical of #2 but #3 and #4 sound great.

Generally, the issue seems to be that 2nd bullet point. If employees spend most of their time walking the dog, working out, baking cakes, are they ever doing their jobs? How do you know? How do you handle this? What's your take?

Great article.

I work 80% remote at the moment.
Next winter I work fully remote for 10 weeks from Gran Canaria.
Simply because the winter in Holland kills my energy entirely.
1 or 2 days in the office is fine for me. After that I'm not more productive. Don't care about coffee machine talks.

My take is companies that are output driven can work great in this model.
If I do all the work I need to do on a day/ week and in between do other stuff like exercise or other stuff who cares?
My experience in the last 3 years is I get more done this way.

Actually in The Netherlands with a lot of companies who still work with the 'amount of face time' model lose out on talent.
Recently I got offered a project for good money, but I had to be in the office at least 4 days a week. I passed.

I'm curious @thechosen1 where are you skeptical about?
Good to hear other sides of the story as well.

I don't think remote work makes people lazy, but it makes it easier for lazy people to be lazy and dishonest. There's plenty of these people in person too.

When I worked in an office I knew someone who would hide in a toilet stall and watch game of thrones. I found another guy sleeping in an empty cubicle a couple times too.
