Hello all, nice to meet you!
I recently finished reading Millionaire Fastlane and it was quite the eye opener. I'm 29 years old and I'm a second year family medicine resident. I was raised on slowlane beliefs all my life with a few deviations to the sidewalk (leasing a BMW for example!). Until recently, I believed that starting a a business is an extremely risky proposition. I was following the standard script: study hard, go to college and get into a stable profession that pays a good salary. I figured that realistically my best bet was to get into a higher paying field (engineering, accounting, law, medicine etc.).
Right now, I make all of $50k a year. I have ~$65k in student loan debt. In about a year and 3 months, I can expect to earn an income of $200-$260k. That's better than most, but it's not going to make me wealthy enough to buy a Ferrari (that's the goal). I'm currently deciding on my Fastlane road. I'm here to soak in whatever information I can and hopefully provide something of value to my fellow Fastlaners.
