A decade ago I read the Millionaire Fastlane , tried my hand at entrepreneurship, failed, took the slow lane, and now here I am again after reading UNSCRIPTED . My first attempt at entrepreneurship was a website that automates the process of determining building code compliance. It was a cool product and our end users loved it, but we didn't do enough research and the companies we were targetting to sell it to thought it was worth an order of magnitude less than we did. After 2 years building it, I just got sick of it and dropped it. Big lessons learned.
Since then, I studied aerospace engineering and worked in the aerospace industry for seven years before a huge career change where now in my 30's, I work as an accident investigations and forensic engineer.
After reading UNSCRIPTED , I'm thinking about ways I can monetize my unique skillsets or start a business that fit's the framework that is unrelated to my education/experience. It's really inspiring reading so many success stories on the forum. Right now, one thing I'm doing is working on a novel. I've been getting up and writing between 4-6AM everyday and I'm even more inspired to treat my writing as a business after reading UNSCRIPTED .
Loving the forum and the books by MJ! They have really helped me change my mindset and get out of a rut I have been in for the last few months with uninspired work and financial pressures. One thing that has really impressed me about the books is how much they align with what I have learned from extensive reading in psychology the last few years, about the power of the subconscious and the influence it has over our lives. MJ's books actually speak to it so brilliantly.
