I’ve been looking at many threads for a couple weeks now and have been truly inspired by much of what I’ve read. :thankyousign:
I’ve tried and failed at some fastlane internet attempts in the past. I’ve learned from them and also have had some successes—that weren’t truly fastlane, but moved in that direction—having built a web design/development business, expanded it into hosting (more fastlane than the development side) and further removed myself from development via finding freelance developers (good ones were hard to find). Six years of that and I sold it—although it still had too much of the value wrapped up in “me†and didn’t fetch much money as a result. :bgh:
I spent the last two years getting back into a field that I had about a 15 year history in, but was out of for a decade. I did so knowing I wasn’t wild about being an employee for someone else, but wanting to get back into this specific field—a field that would tie in with a business idea I had around 2002, but wasn’t in a position to launch—partly due to me, but partly due to a feeling that the market wasn’t ready to embrace the idea (anyone ever experience that—what you feel is a great idea, but ahead of its time? Drives one crazy….)
I suck at being an employee because I work 60+ hours a week and work like I’m moving a business forward like it’s my own—and it works as long as your employer allows that freedom. Two years of back and forth and one last falling out with my employer and I was no longer employed—last month! So, back to looking at business ideas around my enhanced skills and my desire to do something good in the world.
One idea is fastlane, if implemented correctly. One is potentially fastlane, but also potentially just creating a job out of a business (like the web development experience—which I’m attempting to avoid this time around.)
I’ve gone on forever, forgive me. I know I’m new, but have read much and really feel at home here! Thanks for a great place! :eusa_clap:
