This idea has been drumming in my head for a long time, and I want to put this into motion - for both fun and profit!
I've been so used to selling information online, but never before have I sold tangible items (besides the CDs and USB hard drives, which to me still falls under "information products" and that I am capable of producing them on my own). That said, this is going to be mostly a new thing to me.
Current Scenario
- I have identified a demand for certain toys and collectibles.
- I have leads to some shops here locally selling them, and the shop owners are definitely looking for more buyers (some said they are trying to do it online since international demand is greater vs. local)
What I Have / Can Do
- I can outsource to get my entire website store created
- Autoresponder
- PayPal (a given)
- Social media (FB, Twitter, Instagram) however I acknowledge this is kinda limited and probably good for a start only
But What Next?
- What I have not established yet is whether these shop owners are manufacturers or they got it from somewhere else themselves... (which if it's the case, I would be basically 'on the same level' with them thus maybe I'd pass as a competitor actually)
- In this case, how do I source for these items? I am sure there's got to be a way.
- Traffic: the way I see it, for me to ace this and turn it into an on-going business is to get continuous traffic and SEO will be a big player here. Alas, I've not been into SEO in spite of my years marketing online (I used other methods to get traffic and build my list... but they are more suited to the information business) What is the best SEO guide in the market now? (Alternatively, what would be other equally if not better traffic generators for this model?)
Appreciate your input.
If you need further clarification or expansion on certain parts in my post, let me know. Doing a brainstorm session here now.
