My product has a recurring cost of 27 per month
My affiliate is going to promote it through his channels.
He says 50% of CLV is fair, so if my customers spend on average 99 euros, I'd give him 50 upfront for a signed customer, or alternatively pay out 50% of the monthly collected fee as long as the customer stays.
My intuition says that that's a bit steep, or that there should be a max on the number of months, after which the profit for the customer is entirely mine so to speak.
But I have no idea.

Affiliate commissions are typically 20%, but a JV profit split is typically 50/50. What is the difference in this case?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Concretely, my question is twofold:
  • Is a lifetime 50/50 profit split on a customer okay to do, or is that unwise
  • If a YouTuber promotes my info product in an ad inserted into the podcast, is that an affiliate or a JV?
