So I recall reading in TMF that MJ saying something about dropshipping not being a good business model for fastlane. dropshipping ust meaning working with a supplier who ships the product and I just give them orders I get on my website and keep the difference.
anyone else have any thoughts on this ?
I read this after starting this drop ship site project so I wanted to know more
My thought is that is could bring in some good monthly income and eventually I could sell it, or just sit on it and hire a virtual team to help do emails and fulfill orders with the distributor who is shipping the product.
obviously the profit margins are lower than selling a digital product,
average profit per item is around $20-30 and sometimes quite a bit more on other products just depending.
Here is the situation:
- I've got my domain and site setup on Shopify e commerce platform which is actually really cool and integrates all kinds of apps and handy things to market the online store. it's not live yet still have to upload all the products.
- The niche has good traffic and search volume every month, very targeted and rabid fan base of hobbyists,
but I'm re thinking everything because even though there are other businesses that have been selling these products offline for a long time, their online websites are pretty plain and not very engaging, most don't even have social media or collect email. They are way behind the online game so I'm thinking I could one up them and create a better user experience online and reach a larger audience.
so should I be asking how can I stand out and give the customer a better experience so they keep coming back? how can I solve the problem in a more unique way?
Or just abandon this project and start working on another fast lane
