Should I trademark?

Im still in the start up stage of my fastlane idea. I have a provisional patent on file, and im about to have the prototype built. While im waiting for some of the major design details to be worked out im working on some of the fluff like logos,name,business name, website etc. One pitfall that im running into now is whether or not I should trademark the product name. I think I have read somewhere a long time ago that you can mail yourself trademark information, and im not sure if I can still do this.

So my plan is to have the logo designed on fiverr, and then trademark the logo, but is it necessary or is there something im missing? Im very new to this process so any help would be much appreciated, and thanks for taking the time to read this.
