Hey Fastlaners,
My name is Kyle. I'm 25 years old and from Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm married and have two amazing kids (7 year old girl, and 4 year old boy). I work as a Correctional Officer at a Provincial Correctional Centre for the government. My original goal was to become a police officer. I've put so much effort into it, that I could have probably had a successful business had I chose that route a lot sooner.
I want to quickly mention how I became who I am.
I think I changed a lot when my daughter was born. Before I had her, I was a high school dropout, working minimum wage at a convenience store, and living with my girlfriend (I was 16 years old). My dad had lost his business, family, house, and eventually his life to schizophrenia. I didn't comprehend his illness at the time, but before he was sick he was pretty damn successful.
I ended up knocking up my girlfriend (now wife) and had to make a choice. After my daughter was born I went back to school and got my grade 12. I completed a two year policing course, which I don't think was worth it. I ended up working several jobs, each improving over the last (Security, Addiction Work, Bylaw Enforcement, and now CO). I'm in the process for RCMP right now and doing well.
I don't plan on going into the RCMP anymore. My goal is now to break free from putting in my time for a paycheque. I'm here because I want to be self sufficient, and to support my family. I realized after working 12 hour shifts (days and nights) that I'm incredibly drained after work, and don't really want to do much of anything.
I dabbled in fixing cellphones and tablets (Hence my avatar). I found though that it was basically the same as a job, and neglected CENTS (Entry, Scale, and Time). So now i'm going to start from the bottom again and put all my effort into creating something valuable.
I apologize if it sounds like rambling, getting my thoughts into writing isn't something I excel at. Anyways, I've lurked too much without doing any action (2013 join date...) and I'm now going to change that.
