I hear of a lot of guys and gals dropping thousands on marketing their startup before they've made a dime.
I'm not necessarily criticizing this, for I think it has its place, but when you consider that you want to be as cost-efficient as possible when you're starting out, it's probably wise to save the big marketing costs for when you actually have customers/viewers.
My uncle showed me this trick that he used to bring more attention to his page. He got about 5000 likes within the span of a few months. Right now, I believe the page has 9000 likes.

If you have a business, you would be wise to have a Facebook page so that all the kiddies will be able to find your business easily on a platform that they all use.

From what I've seen, it does.
Now here's the thing: Maybe you don't want people to see that you're spamming Facebook (speaking of spamming, I'm not suggesting you spam pages. Just pot once, then leave them alone) so you might want to create a fake profile to do this. Create one a few months in advance, make some friends, and then start promoting your business page. Otherwise, Facebook will suspend your account because they will think you're a spambot.
There's nearly a billion people on Facebook, and an astounding number of them are addicts. They have peoples' attention, so use it to your advantage.
Now that you guys have this knowledge, you have no excuse to not make yourselves known.
