I was looking to get some feedback on my idea behind a video confirmation smart pill dispenser. Would love to get some input, good and bad. I do have a patent on the design and smart pill dispenser functions.
Not long ago, my Grandma went into an Senior Living facility and, as the person responsible for her well-being, I quickly learned that she was either forgetting or refusing to take her prescribed medication - which led to a devastating fall and hospitalization. I looked into existing pill dispensing systems to help me track her medication adherence but quickly learned that none could confirm with confidence whether the meds had been taken or provide notification if they had not. I thought to myself, there must be a better way. So, I came up with the idea of a “smart” pill dispensing system that provides a video confirmation of the person taking the medication – and communicates that information to the appropriate family member, allowing them to participate in a loved one’s care regardless of distance.
