This is my hitchhiker's guide to the fastlane forum, my take on what someone new here should keep in mind while on the forum based on my experiences here.

So your new here, before we start making out millions and millions of dollars, what do you need to know?
1. No Cheerleaders: If you are looking for people to cheer you on for anything and everything you do, this is not the place. People on here will tell you how they feel, if your idea is stupid or if you are making a dumb business decision, we will not hesitate to let you know. It's not negativity, instead, it's no fluff constructive criticism designed to help you. If you are a cheer junkie and you need that consistent congratulations and pat on the back, work your butt off and start building a successful business (and even making some money), you will get all the encouragement in the world from members on here!
2. Demographics: This forum consists of a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs, established entrepreneurs growing and expanding their current businesses, and a group of hugely successful pro's who have done it all and seen everything there is to see, and made millions along the way. The information buried deep within the threads of this forum are more valuable than any ivy league education in the world, do some digging and you will find a TON of gold.
3. Filter Information: Not everyone on the forum is an expert in SEO and not everyone on here is an expert in developing an manufacturing products. It's important for you to filter information on here, if you stick around long enough, you will quickly learn who is good at what as well as what advice is worth it's wight in gold and which should be taken lightly. This was a big mistake for me at the beginning, I would implement anyone and everyone's advice and it just sent me all over the map.
4. Just read the book already:I If you haven't read the book yet, do it. I don't get a single penny if you buy "The Millionaire Fastlane " or not, but the aspects of the book are discussed so much on this forum and are so imperative to your businesses success, you will feel like a fish out of water when we tell you you don't meet CENTS of your locus of control is lacking. The book and the forum combined have been invaluable to me and the book as well as insider subscription has paid for themselves hundreds of times over.
5. Take it with a grain of salt: There will be a time when someone posts something that offends you or rubs you the wrong way, let it be. It's not worth it to come in here and fight with people over a dumb topic. Keep your nasty comments to yourself, more often than not a new member who comes into the forum with a raging attitude will be driven off faster than you can say "adios partner".
6. Introduce, listen, produce: When you join the forum, make sure to write up a short introduction about yourself, let us know a little bit about you and what your interest are. After your intro, it can be tempting to get your post count up fast so you don't look like such a n00b, resist the urge, try and post when you can contribute valuable information to the topic, just saying "good work" on a thread with the last post on it from early 1800's doesn't add vale. Instead, read, read a lot! As I said, do some digging, you will most likely find whatever gold you are looking for, a 5 year old could probably set up a million dollar business if he read the valuable threads and took away the right information from them. The more you listen, the quicker you will learn and be able to grow your 1st money tree!
7. No politics, no spam, that stuff is nasty: Nobody here is interested in debating politics unless it is directly related to your money making business, and spam, spam gets annihilated within minutes of posting. As a contributing member with a very low post count, if you want to avoid being labelled as a spammer, don't throw up links to other sites until we know for a fact you are one of us and not one of them.
Summary: If you are passionate about building a business and you are willing to put in the work, this forum is your greatest asset. Take it easy, read around, absorb the wealth of knowledge and experience from here and you will be on the right track to success. Millionaires have been created from MJ's book and the forum, and there are may more waiting to be created, will you be one of them?
