This is just a brief post about how contemporary life is too much like a reality TV show.
I'd wager that many people have noticed that much of modern life seems to have a theatrical dimension to it.
To risk mentioning politics, "Trump Derangement Syndrome" where all of Trump's critics tend to go over the top whenever they talk about him, as if they're putting on a performance. Frankly, I don't care about American "politics" or politicians, which are merely temporary servants of capitalism (different topic), so criticize him as much or little as you'd like. But you can't deny that every story of the man, no matter inconsequential (2 scoops of ice cream?) becomes a salacious headline, and people lap that up.
How did politics, with its history of violence, wind up as a circus for mass entertainment and as just one more thing that people consume?
"In societies where modern conditions of production prevail, all of life presents itself as an immense accumulation of spectacles. Everything that was directly lived has moved away into a representation."

Interesting YouTube video getting the point across more effectively than I am capable.
