Hi everyone, hi @MJ DeMarco
For the past 10 years, I’ve been working as a software engineer in a stable 9-to-5 job. The paycheck is good, and my wife and I live comfortably—but lately, I’ve been questioning if this is the path I want to stay on.
I’m in a lead position, which comes with higher expectations and increasing stress. The further I go, the more I feel like my time and energy are slipping away. Even though I do freelance work on the side, which brings in extra income, it still demands a lot from me.
Thinking about doing this for another 20 years makes me uneasy. I don’t want to be complacent, just going through the motions and waking up one day realizing I’m stuck. I want more freedom, more control over my time, and the ability to build something meaningful. I’ve always wanted to start something of my own, but fear has held me back. In the past, I relied on a close friend whenever I considered taking a leap. I realize now that I was afraid to do it alone.
That’s why I’m here—to learn from those who have taken that leap, to share experiences, and to finally push myself forward. Looking forward to connecting with you all!
