Hey all,
I've recently been through a pretty bad downcycle but I can feel myself coming out on the otherside now. I want to thank the people on this forum for answering some of my questions about my relationship.
Not too long along a left a highly paid job partly because it was killing my inside. Since then I have been working for myself using my skills and at the same time trying to build my own business online. Some of the ideas I have had have sold regularly and some were total duds.
I also ran into a seeming dead end with my relationship for the first time but that also seems to be resolving itself now. I think state of mind means a lot in life and one of the things that can happen to those of us lucky enough to work from home is that we stagnate, gain weight, don't get enough exercise, etc. Actually this also happens in an office where people sit the butts in chairs for 8 hours a day anyway.
I wanted to share some things that really motivated me to just keep trying with my ideas. Keep on failing, in love, in life, in business. Lately I have been feeling so directionless and useless but I realized that all this pain is just part of my learning process. I am attempting things in life (building a business, keeping a longterm relationship, etc) but if I fail I can simply move on.
In the end we lose everything, we die and everything is gone. So KEEP TRYING. The end will come no matter how bad you mess it up or how well you do. It sounds morbid, but it is liberating, nothing you do in this world will last, so you might as well try to create the life you want. Can anybody else relate to the intense fear of POVERTY that comes with trying to go out on your own? It has been eating at me even though I am financially okay. The culture of having a "job" is VERY strong and everytime I am asked what I do I get jumbled up inside.
A quote for motivation:
"You are judged not by the times you fail but the times you succeed. The amount of times you succeed is directly related to the number of times you fail!"
Another idea is the principle of SW6 - this is what helps you continue to try out a product idea even when you are not sure the demand is out there.
In terms of who will buy it or want to:
Some will
Some won't
Some what
Someone's waiting (SOMEBODY out there wants it)
Stick with it
Stop worrying!
Do the work without the emotion, list the products, build the sites, contact the customers, etc.
