Inbetween moves (it isn't about the things you do, its about the things you do inbetween the things you do)
Are you going to do a job by the end of the month to pay the bills? Good, but, first try to fit in an inbetween move, it could be calling a customer, it could be sending out free samples, it could be doing another off job. If you get into the habit of inbetween moves fitting in with your normal moves, it'll help you pace yourself better.
Don't take the carrot, let hunger and a little patience show you your mistake (not doing the wrong thing, makes you look for the right things)
Do you have some heavy resistance and everything is telling you to just send that email, ask for that extension, make that excuse. Stop. By freezing stupid options you give smarter options more time to make sense.
Always expect panic spikes (before every confirmation of reality being survivable is a panic spike, account for it)
End of the world sirens blaring in your ear?
Make a plan, focus down, get stuff moving and rethink your approach, but then, take a breath, sit with the fear and relax... wait a little bit, and just watch that chest puffing, impenetrable wall soften and come back to equillibrium, then go ahead and do the stuff you planned, because its productive, not because the sky is falling.
You gotta break that panic habit
Bowling instead of exploding into action (cultivate and then stack your work ethic, rather than lifting it)
Loose cannons always equal back to zero, cuz when you make progress you rest on that until you have nothing again.
Instead of a loose cannon, I try to make myself into a bowling lane. I don't throw hard, I let the ball (the action + time) do the work. I make sure my footing is right (that there is no wildcard going to throw me off and that im not looking for wifi crack or hunting social highs), I keep in mind the gutters (what I don't wanna end up doing) but don't over focus on it, I look down the lane at the lane markers (getting the ideas lined up towards the narrowest, highest reward space, that i can juggle), then when i feel confident i slowly and steadily bowl.
It might sound simple, but its hard to do (super hard)
I drill this daily (my aim is to go bigger than getting by, so have to eliminate the bs)
It helps me be a more calculated and measured performer
Helps me hammer away, and learn to rely on accurate info
