So I decided that being in college makes it hard to make money. With all the talk about lack of jobs I figured, why rely on something that isn't there. I decided to try and make some websites to make money. I'm partnered with a friend at school and we are slowly launching sites.
I started solo with my own site, its [edited by modl]. My goals are simple, get enough visitors to get some advertisers and make a couple thousand a month from it.
Now I run google adsense so I can make whatever money I can, i know its not a lot though. What surprises me is my per click rate is averaging over $1.50. I wasn't planning on making that much but I'll take it.
Not sure where to go from here with this site though. I slowly add new ways to make and save money but what else? I also have the affiliate program links, I have talked to a few of the companies to get trails and discounts to try them so I can review them. That will be another section on my site, program reviews. It's win win. More content, and helps sell those affiliate things if they actually work.
Any tips on getting more traffic though? I have been telling friends, posting on facebook(i need to make a group page though i think), I even have a twitter to help promote.
BTW, I have a few more sites we are planning to get up and running here in the future, keeping them on the DL until they are launched though.
