I am currently in the process of opening a car dealership. I am planning on dealing with used cars mainly because of the higher profit margins. My idea is to build the business up to the point where it can sustain itself. I would like to develop a business system that allows me to be mobile throughout the day so I can purchase and deal with other assets like real estate and purchasing cars at auctions. The same concept as absentee ownership just not as extreme. But I would like it to run itself as effectively as possible once the business is mature and stable.
Has anyone been in the car business? I see many of the big dealers that have gone from rags to riches running this kind of model. They have multiple business's and dealerships going at the same time but yet they are only one person. So that leads me to believe it all has to do with developing a business system.
