Hello friends,
I have read the Millionaire Fastlane when I was 22 and now I am 30 and decided to start my own business. I currently live in Melbourne, Australia, and have been working in the IT industry for over 2 years here. I have been working as an ERP Implementation Consultant for the past 2 years and after gaining a good amount of experience in both the technical and functional aspects of the ERP world and seeing the potential of this business in the next 10 years, I decided to quit my job and start a business full time.
I have already registered my business in Australia and am going to be specializing in Odoo, a growing ERP platform from Belgium, and the value I will be adding will be in customizing the ERP solutions for clients (mainly trying to focus on manufacturing and retailers) to help them integrate an ERP system and streamline their business processes.
My first steps in the business are to sign up for a partnership with Odoo to resell it to customers and also provide customization services to the customers. I have already built a website and is due to release on Sunday. I would like to know how to attain new clients for my business and get my first project.
In terms of funding for this business, I have put in my money and taken some money as a loan from my family. I would like to get my first break but I am not sure where do I start with marketing my product. Once my website is up and running, I will have an online presence but how can I acquire more customers?
Some ideas I have are cold calling, but in my line of business, I have seen that cold calling is the least effective method to bring in new business. Can someone give me some advice on how to market my business?
