Hey everyone,
Just wanted to post on here since it's been a while, and I have visited quite a few posts of alleged Fastlaners saying they're gonna achieve the life of their dreams, only to disappear forever 2 posts later. As mentioned before, I have currently been working on my e-commerce gym clothing brand, but I have had little success in my first drop (only achieved ~10 sales). I am currently planning my next drop with my business partner, but to be honest, I have somewhat been experimenting with focusing on brand building and content (newsletter, YT vids, short-form content) and I can kind of visualize a funnel strategy with a hybrid of digital and physical products at several stages of the conversion process.
I am still in the Slowlane, working a 40-60 hour a week corporate job I hate in order to fund the business and save some money. My issue right now is not really execution, it's a lack of time and low energy. I have been optimizing things like my diet to maintain as much energy as possible to work on the business after work. Another issue is limited capital to keep ordering samples and experiment with new drops, which is exactly why I need to save more money to reinvest into the business.
Over the past year, I have had many doubts and wanted to quit several times, but this is by far the longest I have stuck to one business model (~1 year now). Although I have had limited success, I can still see potential if I improve my branding strategy and lean into what customers want in this oversaturated market. I have even considered stacking the offer with a lateral SaaS solution that solves a common problem in the clothing industry (still figuring out what that problem could be).
All in all, I haven't given up, and I never will. As long as I am alive and breathing, I have not failed. However, my confusion lies in deciding what to focus on. I know that clothing is oversaturated, but I feel like everything I try to do is in a crowded market. Until I find another solid idea, I will keep chipping away on this and differentiate the brand one way or another.
Another issue I am struggling with is alienation. I obviously can't talk about Fastlane concepts at work and I don't really know anyone, except my business partner who is far away from me, who is willing to discuss business ideas and ways to break out of the rat race.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back, and I'll keep pushing regular updates to keep myself accountable along this journey.
Open to hearing what everyone's been up to, especially in e-commerce and clothing.
