Hi there! I'm Rey and I'd like to share my story with you.
My lifelong dream is to achieve financial freedom, and it wasn't until a few days ago, while reading TMF , that I realized this dream is still possible. By Fastlane standards, I should confidently say that this dream is going to happen soon! I've already formulated ideas that I plan to execute—more on this later.
I've always been captivated by the concept of making money online, particularly through coding. Nowadays, it's commonplace, but back then, it wasn't. I vividly recall the days when AdSense and blogging were still new. I spent my time binge-watching and reading articles from a creator named Lisa Irby of 2CreateAWebsite. I was envious, always thinking I could do it too, but everything seemed out of reach. Hailing from a third-world country, certain services weren't available, and I lacked the financial means. I couldn't even fathom having a credit card at that age. I was young, clueless, and often found myself giving up. I used to wonder why it was so easy for others. Little did I know that there's no such thing as easy. This realization struck me recently while reading a chapter in TMF about "get rich easy vs get rich quick."
During college, I participated in various MLM and online programs, read numerous books, and although college intrigued me with coding, I knew deep down I didn't want to be an employee for life. I aspire to retire young and achieve financial freedom.
Fast forward to today, my wife and I started a food business (4 months old). Unfortunately, we haven't reached the break-even stage yet, and it's operating at a net negative. It doesn't align with Fastlane metrics, and I need to enhance the systems in place to boost unit sales. I've maxed out two cards due to this venture. Despite the challenges, I'm optimistic. I just need to fine-tune the system and operations, believing we will become profitable. Our branding is strong, and TMF has provided direction, clarity, and a change in perspective. Honestly, if it were just mine, I could close it to pay off our debt, but we can't back down now. I'm committed to the plan and consistent improvement, anticipating exponential growth. Even if it doesn't make me a millionaire, I realize its profit can fuel my Fastlane plans.
The books I've read lacked practicality and alignment with my goals. I'm a few chapters away from finishing TMF, and now I have concrete plans. I'm ready to take action at 32.
With my current employer, I specialize in automation using VBA, HTML, CSS, and JS. I'm determined to do whatever it takes.
I still love coding; it's one of my strengths. I excelled in college, competing with and beating third-year students during my freshman days. I earned the title of the top student in Java programming across all freshmen at the university and won a coding challenge with a perfect score in an international competition.
I share these achievements not to brag but to highlight my lack of direction and, perhaps, perseverance. I often question why I can't achieve certain things and what's holding me back.
