In the book "The Search for The Diceman" there is an episod where Luke's son is in this crazy (or inspiring if you are like me) camp of "dicers" (people living after the power of the dice).
In order to find his Dad, Luke's son need to go through many training sessions at the camp so as to truly understand the philosophy behind the Diceliving (living a life with the Dice as the ultimate decider upon things).
In one particular training session Luke's son is teached by a female teacher that he must learn to conquer the self-imposed fears and limitations he "think" he has. She plays with the fear of losing money and the fear of being embarrased or losing dignity. She says that if you do something like get butt naked, for example, in front of people and then walk around in this crowd of people, then that does not necessarily equate to losing dignity or self-respect. Unless we personally make it so. The same goes with losing all your money or all of your possessions. There is no real need to fear that loss. The only way to actually see that as bad is if you decide it is to be a bad thing.
So everything ultimately comes down to, no matter what you do in life, changing how we look at/experience things. No matter bad or good. Being neutral and still not lose the passion for life.
The fun part about this philosophy is that reality is very subjective. Hence I may not see the same things or experience the same things as the next man. It's highly likely I will not feel the same things like the next man.
For example: I have no real fear of doing ultimate travels. Just going a trip and hope for the best with some starting money and food. Because I have done it and I did not starve to death or thirst to death either. Before I went to Italy on a "craze" travel I was scared as hell that this crazy event of mine would be my sure death. But you would be surprised how easy it is to survive and travel even if you are broke beyond repair. Somehow you always find food, water (even better beverages in fact) and shelter. The embarrassment you thought you would feel being a "rag" never occurrs when you are in that situation either. And I would say you do not feel the desire to acquire stuff either. You just live in the moment and the world is literally at your feet. I cannot in words tell you what kind of freeing feeling that is (no limits whatsoever). You just jump on trains, buses etc and hope for the best. Yes, hitchhiking with the challenge of avoiding being arrested by the police and still get to where you are going. If you want an ultimate experience, then this way of living is the most ultimate there is. It requires cunning, charms and much more. Whatever is required to score the hustle. For this example I can only say: "Limits is a fabrication/an illusion/a big con". You can see the world on dimes and cents my friends, but you need to take the bare, hard, naked challenge. And this does not have to be a harsh travel at all. You can be lazy some days and on the road the next. You decide the limits. Only you, my friend.
This Italy trip I did is somthing I think resonates very much with the teacher stripping and being butt naked in front of Luke's son. She didn't feel a loss of dignity or feel embarrassed. She felt it as natural as breathing fresh air.
The point I want to make is: As an entrepreneur you gain more by stripping yourself from your impossed fears and over cautious behaviour than you do keeping them. The person who do not fear anything can never be a loser, because you need to aknowledge a loss as a loss in order for it to be a loss. There is a statement in that line of thinking. Being ignorant to loss can save you a lot of problems. Many of you may think that I have lost my mind, but please, test it for a week or even a day and see it work in your favour. Do things per automatic, correct along the way. If you make a loss, then just strive to the next level and correct again. Never give any thought to the loss. As Donald Trump himself said ones (freely quoted) "Worrying about debt is a waste of time". The same goes with worrying about other stuff as well. Just do, correct and be pleased. Never overthink, that is never good. I have done it so many times I have lost count. I have now gone from over thinking to actually just doing and feel the thrill of adventures coming to my aid. It's much more fun that way. Everything is a game anyway, so why make the rules harder than they have to be? In business you are the rule maker remember, so make the rules favourable to your taste.
Lastly, the more challenges you take on and conquer the more fearless you become. So make it a daily habit to just impulsively conquer one fear or self-imposed limit after another. And in order to make this clear: take it as it comes. Planning to take on a challenge is something I, and many others by the way, has come to see as counter productive.
