Hey guys. brand new here. I recently read the fastlane and loved it. really opened my eyes and the way i think and am now ready to start working on my fastlane.
A bit of background, I recently just moved to the USA from australia, to live with my wife (she lived with me in Aus for the past few years).
As I'm recently new here, with minimal savings after visa costs and such, I'm now torn between 2 jobs. My wife is a manager at McDonald's, and she managed to land me a job at a different store than her, (although only 2.5 miles away from home) and I've also managed to be offered a job at Home Depot (I have construction background).
The McDonald's job would be offering around 15-20 hours a week on average, and Home Depot would be offering 25-30 average, and slightly better pay (extra $1/hr) but would require me spending around $1000 to fix my car as its a 15 minute drive from home.
I'm slightly leaning towards Home Depot as the McDonald's job is full of old ladies who are mad at the world because they're stuck in a dead end job at 45. and them constantly bickering doesn't put me in a good head space. whereas at Home Depot I'd be in charge of my own area, the people there are nicer, I'd have more freedom in my job and I'd be in a much better head space to think about my fastlane and ideas for it. but that $1000 would really help if i used it to get my fastlane started, and the McDonald's job i can keep riding my bike to work (only 30 minutes), but would constantly be unhappy.
anyone have any experience or
opinions on the matter? would be greatly appreciated!
