Few days ago, I've found myself in need for a specific function on my Andro phone. I've googled around, found apps that do similar (not quite, but somewhat, to a stretch) stuff (both Andro and ios) but not quite what I want/need.
First off, if I'm looking to develop this app, I'm aware there's no way to pay under $1K for the development...but what I would like to know is how to keep it "on the low"? I may be paranoid and my app idea my prove to be shit but still, I wouldn't want to see someone else coming out with the same app just around the same time I develop mine.
A friend of mine once filed this pretty serious patent (industry, maritime) because he figured after he patented his idea, he could sell it to at least some watercraft company. Just as the process of patenting was in the motion, one swedish company came out with "not exact but pretty darn similar" product of their own, banking on it...
This app I'm thinking about isn't groundbreaking, but for .99 I could see people buying it. Anyone got the advice for these things?
