Success
= the achievement of something planned
Your business is an extension of yourself.
So; You first need to be a success, before your business can be a success.
Success is a process, not an event. The equation looks something like:
Habits x Opportunities = Success
With this formula, you can increase your success on two ways.
We have full control over our habits, so changing our behavior is the priority. While increasing our opportunities is second.
Habits
The formula for habits is:
cAction x Time = Habits
You develop habits when you take consistent action over time. You don't lose weight in one day, but in several days.
The formula for action is:
(Rational + Emotional) x Environment = Action
You first need to think it, before you can do it.
It's not enough to know it, you need to feel it.
You can't drive with a flat tire, so your environment is the amplifier of your rational & emotional mind.
To increase our success, we need to increase the quality of our action (habits).
[(5+5) x 5] x 5 = 250
[(10+10) x 10] x 5 = 1000
We need to change our current behavior (250) to our desired behavior (1000) through change management.
Change management has thus 3 variables (rational, emotional & environment) with various methods:
----
Direct the Rider (rational):
Motivate the Elephant (emotional):
Shape the Path (environment):
----
That's one side of the equation, now the other:
The equation for time is:
cTime/Quality = Time
Where cTime is the 24h a day that everybody has, the time that just flows. The quality is what you get out of this time.
Richard Branson has the same amount of time like you, but what he get out of it is much more than the average person.
The formula for Quality is:
Mastery x Productivity = Quality
How well you possess and how productive you are in the habit determines the quality of your time.
Richard Branson isn't only productive, he mastered it.
Opportunities
The formula for Opportunities is:
Luck x Time = Opportunities
Everybody has the same amount of luck through their lives, so that's out of our control.
The time equation is the same like in the formula for habits.
The premise of opportunities is the quote of Thomas Jefferson:
"I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have."
But, it doesn't matter if you are successful in the wrong areas.
You need to have successful habits in 5 areas:
Emotional:
"The man who acquires the ability to take full possession of his own mind may take possession of anything else to which he is justly entitled." - Andrew Carnegie
Mental:
It's not important how smart your are, but the way you think.
My all-time favorite Richard Branson proves it in this video:
Dyslexic Richard Branson - Famous Dyslexic - YouTube
Physical
When you don't have energy, you won't get far.
Social
People aren't islands, so you need to have people skills to get somewhere in life.
Spiritual
When you don't have a purpose, all your success doesn't mean anything.
I still study does areas, so I don't have a complete framework for them.
Everything I just wrote, is already written thousand times. There's nothing new under the sun.
The only difference is the resonance level between the information and yourself.
That's the reason why I always make an own framework on the topics I study.
When you realize something for yourself, it's thousand times stronger than just reading it in a book.
So, that's my framework for success. Hate it or love it!!

----
Direct the Rider (rational):
- Follow The Bright Spots: Investigate what's working and clone it.
- Script The Critical Moves: Don't think big picture, think in terms of specific behaviors.
- Point To The Destination: Change is easier when you know where you're going and why it's worth it.
Motivate the Elephant (emotional):
- Find The Feeling: Knowing something isn't enough to cause change. Make people feel something.
- Shrink The Change: Break down the change until it no longer spooks the Elephant.
- Grow Your People: Cultivate a sense of identity and instill the growth mindset.
Shape the Path (environment):
- Tweak The Environment: When the situation changes, the behavior changes. So change the situation.
- Build Habits: When behavior is habitual, it's "free" - it doesn't tax the the Rider. Look for ways to encourage habits.
- Rally The Herd: Behavior is contagious. Help it spread.
