Well, as I mentioned in this thread;
http://www.thefastlanetomillions.com/general-business-discussion/15467-using-part-time-business-stepping-stone-towards-your-plan.html
I have decided to move forward with a weekend business to begin picking up some extra money in the coming months. (Or as Aroundtheworld mentioned in her “Define your Dream-Plan to get there!†thread, I would like to further "Build my net worth" by increasing my bank account!)
After some research in the past couple of days, I am seriously considering a very simple idea that could be started VERY easily in my neighborhood, that seems to have very little competition in my town. It is also something I have needed myself a few times in the past years. My friendships and connections from having lived in the area my entire life will also help significantly should I decide to move forward, as referral and word of mouth will be crucial in the beginning. I would be counting on my friends and family to pass my business card around to everyone and anyone they meet.
Now, I will be doing plenty of legwork on my own on this idea in the coming weeks, however being the nature of this board, I figured someone out there might be able to provide some insight (or know a resource that can?). Does anyone have any “MUST KNOW†information on this industry? The equipment? The procedures? Things I should look out for? Is there anything I should know before diving into this? The business “seems†rather simple to start up, with a decent rate of return for the time/wear and tear on equipment/supplies needed to do it, etc. Keep in mind, I am not looking to quit my day job in any way shape or form just yet, I am just looking to build up some cash flow. A larger savings account will help me better prepare for real-estate investments and other endeavors in the next few years, as I slowly and steadily work to escape the rat-race. I also DON’T feel like working for someone else on the weekends, as I would like my income to be 100% controlled by own efforts (ie: how hard I am willing to work).
Any advice, input, criticism, alternate ideas, etc. would be appreciated! :smx7: Anyone with specific knowledge on this industry or experience in doing this would be worshipped, lol. :hl:
Thanks in advance guys and gals!
