Obviously new to the forum. Appreciate as I glance through the posts that not only are you all knowledgeable but patient with ( and even encouraging of) the new entrepreneurs. Thank you for creating this environment. It seems very well balanced & productive, which of anything I've seen that one thing is hard to find.
About me, I own an investment company that facilitates transactional sales, so along the lines of mergers & acquisitions but we have also dabbled in funding, ground floor and tiered construction. Also did a little work in film funding and made some really interesting and unexpected connections there. That whole sphere has changed so much. Some for the better, some not so much.
I divorced in 2012 so I'm restructuring and re-evaluating where I want to be and how I want to get there. Worked in both corporate insurance and financial / retirement planning but as I transitioned out of my 19 year relationship I decided to take a 9-5 in corporate finance with a large health network in Indy as much for the benefits as for the time to heal and regroup.
I helped my daughter start her first business when she was 15 for which she won an award from By Kids for Kids (BKFK.com). Not only did it increase her self esteem and open the concept of creating her own wealth but she was able to meet a few celebs like Pete Sampras and was a business sponsor of the Miracle Match Foundation.
Networking is still fascinating to me. I prefer to hear about someone else's experience as opposed to talking about mine but if I can help I certainly will.
