Hi!
MJ, you did what Robert Kiyosaki only touched lightly on. Whereas he was more of a storyteller, you really drilled the statistics and facts though. For that, you have my respect. Also, you look like Sean Penn, so kudos on having more than your "hair" while you retire. I am a car guy too so would love to have you blog about cars someday. Its nice to know about events as well as process.
However, what I disagree about is that you wanted to "bitchslap" your younger self for that motorbike accident. Relax. It happens. You were young, and you seeked adrenalin. Would you blame yourself if a drunk driver hit you? You could simply go out to run errands and that is your choice, but you are not responsible for not knowing the future. Shit happens man. Also, what if it was a minor scratch? Would you regret it? We are emotional beings so sometimes we think through intuition rather than logic. Richard Branson claims intuition as his prime source when it comes to decision. I could see him failing many times including the times he went for daring trips, but he survived it all and is a billionaire. Compared to him, Trump has lost many businesses and is in huge debt, but brands his name to sell real estate for profit. It's the same method as Charlie Sheen which increases value perceived by society. Supply and demand.
Since you do love to read books, there is a book called "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot. I bet you would enjoy it when you read it.
I also think that intelligence is a factor when it comes to businesses. Some people can really be very detailed oriented. For instance Warren Buffet would really read the annual reports meticulously, get in touch with the company to actually be a voice about the company's performance and actions, and really chose to be stingy and frugal with his spendings. He was exceptionally detail oriented but could not tell his assistants hair color (blonde) when she phoned him to ask one day. Plus, some people don't get ideas off the bat while others do so that is also one aspect where some may lack foresight and judgement.
Aside from that, thank you MJ very much because I thought that Slow Lane was the only way to go when it came to being rich for us talentless blokes. Its liberating to know that anyone can do it. For FastLane success, do check out Eben Pagan who gets $30 million profit yearly from several online companies in online marketing, dating, coaching, etc. etc. where he is one of the few masters in his craft. However, the thing about Eban is that everything from dating, etc. etc. all come from his personal experience so that is why its important to actually succeed in what you preach.
