Hey all. I noticed on the forum, and in general, freelance coders are recommended as they are cheaper, quicker, have more knowledge than you, etc. This is all possibly true, and alot of times freelancers are good solutions. But I believe it is absolutely an awful thing to get an idea for a technical, hire a freelancer, have them make it, then go. I believe if you're trying to start a SaaS, a software idea, etc, GAIN SOME TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE! Spend a week, two weeks, learning about software. Read some coding forums. Do some quick tuts. Know about the inner workings of it and how it works. Know what is hard and what is difficult. There are many freelancers who Google, Copy, Paste, and that's your project. You could do that, or you could spot that they're taking advantage of you. Knowing a little about software will help you alot and will help you deal with freelancers and keep them from taking advantage of you. It will also help in your running of the business.
