Hello, I'm not sure if this is the correct section but let's start.
This is not my first post on this forum but let me tell you about myself first. My name is Michal, 29, I am from Poland.
I've been working as a software developer since the summer of 2016, but I started learning when I was 12. I do backend and frontend (web&mobile) and I have some little skills in AWS and firebase so I am a full-stack developer. Currently, I'm earning almost 40k PLN per month after paying all taxes. PLN/USD is currently about 0,22 but please note that the living cost in Poland is much less than in the USA so my earnings are bigger than most of the people in our country. Now I'm working for one main customer and some extras and I feel that I've reached the peak of earnings as a freelancer. Ok maybe I could work more and find better-paid customers, but 10-20k PLN more per month doesn't change anything. I would be still dependent on working hours and while vacationing I wouldn't earn anything. Ok maybe I can lease a very nice car but it would make me feel even more tied. So, as a result, I can't see the difference between earning 30 or 50k PLN / month, and further learning programming to become a better and better specialist has no sense to me.
I wanted to have a great business since I was a teenager but I didn't know how to start, I read only polish forums and had a bad approach... until I found "The Fastlane Millionaire" book and this forum last year. It has changed everything. I've read the TFM book last year and now I'm reading "The Great Rat Escape" - 66% completed. I know, I had about 10 months' break but we were building and arranging our new house.
People from this forum are awesome. You have totally different (better) approach to life and doing business than sad people from Poland, really. The advice that beginners should just start by helping people (if they do not know how to start) is so powerful. Thank you all
Ok so let's talk about my goals and ideas.
The nearest big goal is to have about 30k net income per month from my products (independent of time). I don't know how much time I need to achieve this but I estimate about 2-3 years. I will be updating my progress, problems, and wins here.
The big positive of my personality is that I can treat lose as gaining experience.
The main thing I have to change is to resign from extra customers and have only one to have cleaner and more rest mind. Context switching between customers is really hard :/
The second problem is that I feel closed into a bubble. Okay, I have hobbies and extra activities like training in the gym since 2011 (great results in powerlifting, well-built body), training BJJ, bbq'ing, football, and books about quantum physics and relative theory but I feel that I should be more open to the world (taking part in some events, meet more people and so on). Of course, I meet with my friends often, but you understand, these are still the same people.
In nearest future, I am going to brew beers as well. In past, I was also interested in electronics and building robots.
I also built some apps and games but those were my ideas, not people problems so I earned nothing
How do I want to start? Well I don't have a specific business idea, but I am a member of some Facebook groups where there are a lot of wanna-be programmers and for the last few months I helped them by answering how to become a software dev, what things they should learn, what languages they should choose, what is very important in IT world, how could they get the first job and so on. I'm going to help them on a larger scale and register in international groups to check if those people have the same problems and questions. I helped my two friends to become professional IT dev so this is my success .
The plan B as I said earlier is to take part in some interesting events, meet more people, maybe find some other hobbies and of course still hard train on the gym and mat, improve bbq skills, eat healthier and finally learn about marketing.
Of course, I gonna finish "The Great Rat Escape" book within one week.
Best regards!
