I spent about 6 hours this weekend reading The Snowball by Alice Schroeder
Immediate take away lessons related to the fast lane:
-had amazing focus at a very young age
-made money from nothing from childhood into college (selling used golf balls was one often used method)
-made mistakes that many of us will make or have made, but did so very young
-knew his exact net worth throughout his life
-had very specific goals, which were set at the age of 9 (1 million at the age of 35)
-willing to look into stocks far beyond anyone else (such as visiting companies or getting the actual numbers himself from various resources such as moody's)
-never let anyone else invest his money
-decided early on that he would be driven from the inside and not the outside (would you rather be known as the world's greatest lover, but actually be the worst or be known as the world's worst lover, but actually be the best?)
-willing to risk nearly his entire net worth on an investment
-very driven and doesn't 'waste' time with people or conversations that do not interest him
-avid bridge player
I would recommend reading this book with an 8/10.
