Hello fastlane members!
My name is Helder and, currently, I'm an wannapreneur from Portugal. I have ideas, what I've been lacking until now is the willing to execute. I've read the book twice, and it really touches the right buttons. Due to my current job and to a lot of reading I started to understand the right reasons to start a business. It may seem so simple, but sometimes it seems so difficult: find a problem/need and solve it. A few years ago I believed that all you needed was a great idea, then you would execute it until it was perfect, and only after that would you unleash your creation to the world and people would come in troves to give their money... I was obviously wrong. We are all selfish by nature, and if my ideia doesn't solve or add something meaningful and important it will fail. The click really came when I understood the meaning of CENTS. And better than that, I'm actually a computer engineer with a strong background in programming, so I have no excuse. I'm perfectly capable of learning new programming languages that help me build something meaningful.
So, I'm joining this community to not only search for inspiration but also to become accountable. I'm working on a project that I believe has potential, and I started to build a prototype. Even though I believe the idea has potential, it might fail. I'm not too attached to it, my priority is to build a business, not to develop a simple idea. If it works, great, if it doesn't, I just have to move on and find a different need to fulfill or a different problem to solve. And I know that being part of this community will allow me to see further.
