Overview:
A post from 2011 by JackEdwards brought my attention to the Inc 5000 list of 2012. I wrote down the top 20 companies with their industry next to it. I then counted the total for each industry.
The top industries being:
What I did with this information:
Seeing a large number of financial companies with massive growth, my curiosity exploded. What are these companies doing?
From this we can see that financial services can grow at a pretty alarming rate.
We also see that Processing Services are what 5/6 of the top growing companies are doing.
It doesn't take an army to run one of these processing services.
Ways to attack this. Emulate them/Become a PS or fix a problem in that industry. That alone will be worth gold, with execution of course.
Note: I am not an expert in an anyway. I am training myself to see problems and profits(market need). People with a ton more experience can comment on this and see many more ways to attack this that I am not trained to yet.
This is not an end all, be all either. There are 5000 other companies on that list. I only broke down a small section of the list and complied the results.

- IT Services (2 total)

- Retail, Media, Logistics, Education, and Software each had 1 company respectively

- Bluefin Payment Systems - Processing Service, 11.6k% Growth, $55.6m Revenue, 30 employees, Georgia, #6 Inc 5k
- High Tower Advisors - Stock/Asset Selection service, 8.8k% Growth, $43.9m Revenue, 178 employees, Illinois #13 Inc 5k
- Merchant Services - Processing Service, 7.8k% Growth, $14.1m Revenue, 1.3k employees, Florida, #18 Inc 5k
- Complete Merchant Solutions - Processing Service/Financial Merchandise Sales, 7.8k Growth, $17.9m Revenue, 30 employees, Utah, #19 Inc 5k
