I helped a guy do his first deal 5 years ago. Now, he's the expert and selling his coaching services for $197 per month and claiming that he has 20 years of experience. BS!
I was talking to a friend here in who's son has been working for a big real estate "lifestyle" training company out of Texas for about 3 years. That is all he does is "coach" customers. I asked my friend how many houses the son has bought. He told me only the 2 duplexes that he and his son are in together !!! Not sure I would want to be paying for the advise the son is giving.
Kinda reminds me of the lady in in Texas that was working for a rural water company doing the billing. Then one day she quit and started working as a real estate coach. Her hours were from about 7pm til 1am due to calls from the west coast. This is a lady that never owned any house other than the one she lived in which is a mobile home. She just followed a script, if they ask this, tell them that...
One time I was invited to visit a company in Utah who was interested in promoting CashFlowDepot in a big way on TV, radio, etc. They had real estate coaches who were 19 years old and never done a deal. The company charged $5k for 6 months of coaching. Oh, and they cross trained all their coaches to coach on investing in the stock market too! Needless to say, when I saw the operation in Utah I passed because it was not anything I would want to be associated with!
Many real estate forums are filled with people who post multiple times every single day. Makes you wonder when they have time to do anything else. Many of these people have book knowledge but they have never actually bought a house or done any kind of real estate deal. They can talk the talk, but they are not someone you want to get advice from.
Be very very careful who you get your advice from.
