I've completely forgot who said (servicefly, sprite?) and what thread it was in, but I read a suggestion a few days ago about contacting local web developers instead of using an online freelancer. This definitely helped me in terms of insecurity of starting a business because the idea of sending $3k+ to someone you never met before is tough. Especially when that $3k is your life savings.
I was wondering where I could find local web developers in my area because my local yellow pages only advertises one? Also, if I was looking for someone to build an internet system along with the web site design would I be seeking a designer who knows MySQL? Could this all be classified as the term "developer?"
