Hi,
I'm from The Netherlands and a couple of years ago I read the Fastlane Millionaire. I thought I understood the concepts of the book, but I realize now that ever since reading I've been very busy action faking. So much so that I've actually been walking backward on the sidewalk with a couple of near collisions on the slowlane. I'm in-debt... serious debt and am not even sure if I will be able to make rent the coming month. A lot of other bills won't be paid, that's for sure.
I maneuvered myself in a situation where I was convinced that it was better not to take action so the debt collectors didn't have anything to collect. I lived in my own hyperreality that was seriously f.-up. I'm a solo entrepreneur for 10 years and when I started out I was kinda successful in my own way (as so I thought), trading time for money by giving courses. I thought I was an expert in my field and I am convinced that my courses are still way better than that of the competition. Via worth of mouth, I very quickly got a lot of big customers and even ended up on television. My only goal was to add value and I thought I was doing a great job at that.
However... I was not as unique as I thought and the entree barrier was very low. When I started I barely had any competitors. After 3 years in business, the market was flooded with solo entrepreneurs giving the same courses. I'm sure that plenty of them just copied me. I met this one competitor that didn't give a f* about the quality and he actually made millions. How? He advertised like crazy and generated a lot of perceived value. I should have changed my business model or pursue a different endeavor, but instead, I got in-debt deeper and deeper. The coming year will be the 10th year of my solo business and I am fed up with it.
I am going to cut my losses and start a new business. I have some loose end to wrap up before I can do so. And of course, I will be left with this debt for now, but I will pursue giving even more value via a fastlane business. I actually ended up here because of reading this book by Zig Ziglar where he says "You are what you are and where you are because of what has gone into your mind. You can change what you are and where you are by changing what goes into your mind." So I decided to start reading for 3 hours per day. The first book I picked up: Unscripted . I know just reading is action faking, but I am glad I decided to start reading else I would not have been able to realize what I've been doing wrong the last couple of years.
I'm almost finished with Unscripted and before I started reading it I decided that I would start blogging about my journey, how I use my own techniques for accelerated learning to go through books like Unscripted and implementing what I learn via self-hypnosis and taking action. Now I wonder about two things. 1st: How unique would it be? Meaning, a lot of people blog about self-improvement and I am wondering what I would be adding to the table. 2nd: How high is the entree barrier? I believe it would still be quite low.
This kinda leaves me with an issue that hopefully, you can help me with: Wouldn't the entrance barrier always be low when creating a legacy business in the form of an online academy?
Best regards,
Frans
