2 misses yesterday, but all part of the game:
- Tried to book a friend who is builds software for a huge entertainment company and has run his own shop in the past.
He has worked at major game studios like ZYNGA and is an expert at designing games that monetize, a subject many people are interested in, but few understand.
Didn't want to give an interview bc his current project is highly secretive. We'll try again later.
- Another "NO" from friend who sold his social casino gaming company (they make slot machine games for mobile) to a big casino company for 9 figures.
Taking a sabbatical for a few months, so he says he might be willing when that's over. Sounds good to me.
First interview tomorrow with a couple guys who have actually been mentioned on this forum a few times. Prepping my questions today to make the most of it.
First interview COMPLETE!
I spoke with serial entrepreneurs Rohan Gilkes & Kevin Pereira of Launch27, Maids in Black, Lawn Tribe, Groove Learning, Groove Living, Innclusive (which was started when they were discriminated against on AirBNB), and their new SAAS TripLaunch.co which was launched about 10 days ago and already has $1.65M in trips added to the platform (they take 5% of that as their platform fee).
Some of you guys may be familiar with some of their work
- How I built my first million dollar company and a 27 day guide on how to launch your own! — Rohan Gilkes
- Maids In Black: An Entrepreneurial Dilemma (Tech Or Non-Tech?) - with Rohan Gilkes - Mixergy
- How to Brand a Subscription Box Startup - Wet Shave Club Case Study • r/Entrepreneur
- Innclusive
Awesome guys and awesome conversation.
Spoke to my buddy this morning who has created an app called Popsy - a free mobile app to buy & sell 2nd hand products.
- They are allowing people to buy and sell stuff (like Craiglist, but for mobile) and using artificial intelligence to make the process easier.
- They have about 1 million active users, mostly in Brazil which is the first country where they took off
- They have taken on some funding and are looking to go big
I'll be interviewing him sometime in the next 2 weeks
In the meantime continuing to build and nurture my audience via the FB group and email list. Just grinding my way to the first 500 & then 1000, which I would like to get to as soon as possible
Today I used both to have people submit questions for Rohan & Kevin, which seemed to be a great way to engage.
