Hello dear Intro-Thread-Readers,
my name is Fabian. I'm a 24 year old student from Germany. My study subjects are economical- and political science. Soon I will receive my bachelors degree and I feel like the university did not prepare me at all for the real life out there. The content and exams were bland and only for memorization, not many things seem to be applicable in a job or Start-Up. The only useful thing was my voluntary one year internship at a university in Turkey.
During this internship I came across TMF by watching YouTube summary videos of personal-finance related books and it resonated a lot with me. Especially by exposing the investing and compound-interest culture I felt relatable to this book because I had similar opinions about that topic but was never able to put them into words like that.
Anyway, I guess that the books are pretty awesome and eye-opening is pretty common knowledge around here but I still want to say thank you to @MJ DeMarco for being a great Morpheus and a thank you to all the people who are posting incredible and helpful content around here which I have been reading for some time now.
Normally I would now work on my Bachelor-thesis, which is my last thing to finish before I graduate and then start my Masters-Degree in some economic or business related field which I don't even know if it's fitting or useful for me. Maybe useful for the slowlane but not useful for me as long as I don't see any skills I could learn in doing this program which would help me with my future entrepreneurial adventures. To gain some hopefully useful skills I applied for a part-time-job a few days ago which is in the field of digital marketing and they invited me to a job-interview. And that is the reason why I am now writing this intro instead of my Bachelor-thesis. I need somebody who can lead me to quickly understand the foundations of digital marketing so that I can make a good impression to get that job and then to learn skills which I will then use for my own future start-up. Otherwise I will just try to find some good content in already existing threads here on this forum or in the general web.
I also have already some business ideas but so far they are only ideas, I haven't done any research on them yet because I want to graduate first.
Also the reason why I want to gain financial freedom is to get a life which will not rely on the need of making money and sacrificing my time for it. I want to be able to do the things that I want to do with no restrictions regarding time or financial resources. It is clear to me that the probability of achieving that is low but it still sounds better than working a 9-5 until I am 70 or something and to exhaust myself for my bosses dreams while my life becomes a rat-race.
Thanks to anybody who is still reading at this point, I hope I will contribute regularly to this forum and not just lurk.
