A few days ago I was out to eat with my dad and he goes "Yeah know, Tommy.... I work with this other doc and he owns the restaurant that I give lectures at, the guy is literally doing whatever he wants with his life and it's all from the restaurant, and it's not because of his medical practice. I want to get out of medicine and start a family business".
With that being said, it got my mind racing as to what would be an acceptable idea of something to do. I know this said "NO IDEA THREADS!", but at the same time, it wouldn't fit anywhere else.
Although it's not fastlane, we thought about doing a burger place in my town. My town is full of a ton of pretentious people who will only eat 5 dollar pizza slices. It pains me to say that if I wanted to a hot dog or something of the sort from any of the restaurants, I would not be able to find one.
Basically, a lot of our ideas revolved around restaurants, because my uncle has a ton of experience in that industry as well.
Now, while most people would be saying "INVENT SOMETHING". I almost kind of cringe. It's like the person who doesn't really enjoy what they're and you can tell they're in it for money... which is why they suck, they only focus on the money.
That's not the deal here, but I guess what I'm saying is - we can't just simply invent something and expect it to make huge bucks, it doesn't work like that. There needs to be a passion fueling it.
So what do you guys think? If this opportunity came up, where would you go with it?
