Bit of background:
Currently I am in Year 12 (17 years old) and I received a cadetship (where I basically work full time and study part time) at an accounting firm at a salary of $34,000 for the first year and will be starting next year in March. While I am not going to be in this line of work after the cadetship finishes (I will be enter the realm of entrepreneurship), it is a career which has a lot of opportunities and security and while it does delay my degree by a year (making it 4 years long), it guarantees me a whole lot of experience upon graduation as well a guaranteed job with the firm should I take it.
Furthermore, interacting with professionals and other individuals as well as being in a work environment, allows me to broaden my mind and enables me to be more observant of the world around me, and thus it can open me to a world of business opportunities waiting to be taken.
I plan on moving out a couple of months into my degree and much of the money I make will go to rent ($10K-$20K throughout the year) leaving me some amount each week. I wish to become financially free (for a student) and have more money to spend on whatever it is I wish to (Having $500 more every week would be an achievement, but not an endpoint!).
What can I do with my salary in order to achieve this? I can always ask my parents for money, but I do not wish to and want to see what is possible on my own with no financial help from anyone.
Thank you, and sorry if this thread is in the wrong place on the forum.
